ABSTRACT: The study used theoretical research and anatysis of international and Brazilian literature. Beyond this, an empirical research was performed through interviews with persons from the most important specialized institutions acting in Special Education. in São Paulo. lt was possible to detect the presence of four trends in the organization of courses for teachers training, including also different influences of public policies in Special Education.
