MATHEMATICS TO MENTAL RETARDED PEOPLE AS RESEARCH OBJECT: ANALYSIS AND PERSPECTIVES

ABSTRACT: it was organized and systematized the developed researches for mathematical ability teaching to mental retarded people. The literature analysis in this area can help the professionals and the educational researchers and recognize the importance of this topic in the mental retarded educational process. The analysis and discussion were managed to the applicability and the maintenance of learning relations, offering an opportunity to: (a) examine the kind of intervention that has been carried out; (b) describe the characteristics of the retarded population who has participated in this research; (c) summarize and discuss the obtained results through several teaching procedures; and (d) offer suggestions to future researches.
